Come Celebrate!Book Lovers’ Grand Opening was on Valentine’s Day last year. To mark our one-year anniversary, we are celebrating on Friday and Saturday, February 14 & 15. It’s a very important event for us, and we wanted to share it with you. Please stop by! Refreshments will be served on both days. Fresh hot coffee, tea and hot chocolate with delicious pastries and sweets too tempting to resist are on the refreshment menu. We’re running a special drawing for two gift baskets, and there just might be some other special surprises planned - you should definitely come by. Please feel free to bring a friend/friends and introduce them to Book Lovers. Refer a friend by submitting their name and address to receive two (2) additional entries for the basket drawing. Bring a friend with you, and we’ll give you three (3) chances to win one of the baskets. The celebration is our way of letting you know how important you are to us and how much we appreciate your business. Without you, we wouldn’t be celebrating.Thank you! Ugh! No more snow...please!
We’ve had our share this year haven’t we? It’s funny but some days when snow is predicted, business is incredibly slow and sometimes even non-existent. But on other snowy days...cars fly into the parking lot and frenzied customers charge through the door saying, "Thank Goodness you’re still open!" They confess to being horrified at the thought of being trapped in the house during a snow storm without a supply of books. Don’t worry, we absolutely understand and make every effort to maintain our hours regardless of the weather. If you’re ever wondering whether we’re open or possibly closing early due to inclement weather, please feel free to call, 508-676-6996. This is New England, it’s still early in the season and the white stuff keeps falling a few times each week. So plan ahead, stock up now on emergency rations - books, milk, books, bread, books, soup, books... oh... and maybe some rock salt. What’s the fuss about?Often customers ask for recommendations. They’re looking for a new author, or an author who writes similar style books to someone they’re enjoying. We’ve got some suggestions for you. Check them out and let us know if you agree.

OVERSTOCK: We get questions all the time about the books on the shelves behind the counter. They’re overstock. We keep 2 copies of a book on the floor and then one (or more if popular author) in overstock, that way, our sales floor isn’t cluttered with duplicate copies of the same books. If you spot something you’re interested in on the overstock shelf, please ask the sales associate for help in locating the copy on the sales shelves. RESERVE BOOKS: Did you know we can reserve or HOLD books for you? Our books on RESERVE for customers are kept behind the counter too, waiting customer pick up. If there are books you’ve been looking for but we don’t have them in stock, we can reserve them for you. When/if the book(s) come in, we’ll reserve them for you. Books can be reserved in person or by phone. Got a list? We don’t mind, just write it down and leave it with us or email us. We HOLD books for 7 days after our phone call to you. If you aren’t able to pick up your book in that time, we make the book available for sale to other customers. HARDCOVER BOOK RENTALS are in the first bay. Newest releases are available for rent for only $3 per week. Going to be late returning the book? Just like the library, you can call to renew before the week is up and only pay the additional $3 for the 2nd week rental instead of paying late fees! LEFT SIDE of the STORE: The bays on the left side of the store are Contemporary Romance, Fiction, Adventure, Mystery, Historical Fiction/Westerns/Military, (the second to last bay is a sale/special event section and the very last bay behind the lattice is just our storage (uh...junk) area. Coming back up the other side are our Non Fiction (way in the back), and Sci Fi, Horror sections. CENTER of STORE: There are two new book spinners in the front center of the store. These books are new releases discounted 20% (buy 5 and get the 6th for 1/2 off the cover price). All the other spinners are more recently released used books (2002 and 2003). The center table is our Events table. That’s where you’ll find the sale books when we have SALES along with other miscellaneous items for sale (book marks, book covers, etc.) We occasionally also have holiday gift items and baskets for sale. You’ll also find our "Tell Us What You’re Reading" board. Grab a card and share your opinion of your latest read or check to see what books fellow readers are enjoying or complaining about. RIGHT SIDE of the STORE: The Children’s section is in the front of the store (new books on the shelf, used on the spinner and shelves). We’re kid friendly...there’s a can full of blocks for your little one’s entertainment. Please feel free to let them play while you look; but please be sure to check on them often...little hands find trouble with ease. There’s a Young Adult section (new/used) as well as Literature. Students...why buy full price NEW literature when used and discount copies are available? The remaining bays on the right side of the store are our collection of Harlequin and Silhouette titles. Last bays are 2 in 1 Books and Duets then Time Travel/Fantasy/Paranormal. The room beyond the French doors is the Historical Romance section. Regencies to the left, Historical around the room, Anthologies on the right as you enter. The spinners contain recent releases and favorite authors. That pretty much wraps it up. Look around next time you’re in the store. If you’re curious about anything or if you have suggestions about our set-up that will make your book shopping experience more pleasant, please let us know.
What’s new on the Spinners... (new books 20% off original cover prices) Stuart Woods, The Short Forever Merline Lovelace, After Midnight Nevada Barr, Hunting Season J.D. Robb, Portrait in Death John Lescroart, The Oath Alice Duncan, Strong Spirits Lori Foster, Too Much Temptation "Reading is a basic tool in the living of a good life."
